Everything about the Picantillo Restaurant has an artsy, colorful style from the walls to the food! You’re greeted with delicious aromas and friendly faces from the moment you walk in.. Once you have a bite of the rich guacamole or savory meat, you’re hooked. All of that has been carefully designed by, who’s passion is creating the best customer experience.  I knew I wanted something that is “pretty, that tastes good” and the Picantillo definitely exceeds that requirement! “It’s such a great plate and it’s not a main dish in most Mex-American restaurant; Most people don’t even know about it. I wanted to give life to it!” As a lifelong foodie, Sizzling Fajitas has always been a favorite. It’s different and something most people have never tasted before.


The Picantillo Restaurant Brings Needed Mexican Flavor To Pasadena 

[Severna Park Voice] When Saviel Cruz and his niece Leidy Hernandez opened The Picantillo Restaurant eight months ago, they wanted to bring a variety of flavorful dishes to an area that had few Mexican food options. But in addition to offering Mexican favorites like tacos and burritos, the establishment is unique because it offers a full bar and a menu that includes American courses.
“It’s good to have such an extended menu, but especially one that has Mexican and American entrees,” explained Hernandez, who serves as manager of her uncle’s restaurant. “Some of the popular dishes are quesadillas, fajitas and chimichangas. The American side is represented too. We have everything from burgers to pancakes and waffles.”
Those servings are well prepared by an experienced staff. Cruz runs the kitchen, while Hernandez oversees the customer service experience. “Our restaurant starts in the kitchen, where everything is made from scratch,” Hernandez revealed. “We try to have good food and service. That’s what matters most in the restaurant business. We want to keep our customers happy, so that they continue to come back.”
Hernandez added that some cooks share special Mexican salsas and other recipes they make and Cruz is a head chef at Brian Boru Restaurant and Pub in Severna Park. “Saviel’s passion is the food. He’s been working in the restaurants field for close to 15 years. My uncle has made it so this place is full of family and friends always helping to make it work.”
